<p>Avoid these and you should be on the right track (provided you want to be successful)&#8230;</p>
<p><strong>1. Surrounding Yourself With the Wrong People</strong><br />
It&#8217;s a guaranteed way to fail in life with this. Whatever you like to do, losers will just tell you it won&#8217;t work and after some time, you will also become a loser. High five, welcome to the losers&#8217; club. <em>Something about losers you should know:</em> they like to &#8216;recruit&#8217; new people and are very comfortable in their shoes. They don&#8217;t welcome Changes. So when you see someone with any of these two characteristics, you know what you should do.</p>
<p>You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with</p>
<p><strong>2. You Don&#8217;t Know What You Want</strong><br />
The most common goal I hear all of the time is, &#8220;I want to be rich&#8221;. I mean it&#8217;s fine with that generic goal but the problem is, how rich do you want to be? Or how rich is rich? Put it this way &#8211; the methods used to make a million and $3,000 are different. No wonder some people couldn&#8217;t experience breakthroughs in life because they are playing small for big goals. If you want to make a million, you need to put in that level of commitment.</p>
<p><strong>3. You Want Everything</strong><br />
It&#8217;s nice to have a lot of things but if you go chasing everything, you get nothing. Let me tell you why &#8211; you only have 24 hours a day and you&#8217;ve got to focus on your priorities. I know, I know, you can hire others and so on but the fact is, you&#8217;ve got to want &#8216;something&#8217; first to lead to another &#8216;something&#8217;, then to everything.</p>
<p><strong>4. Using the Law of Attraction without Taking Action</strong><br />
It&#8217;s a surefire way to fail if you keep on watching the &#8220;Secret&#8221; and doing &#8216;attraction&#8217; by sitting down on your floor manifesting 3 hours a day. When you believe you can achieve your goal, you will take action to actually achieve it but if you don&#8217;t understand this basic element and think LOA is some sort of miracle remedy, oh boy, you&#8217;re in for a big surprise for failure.</p>
<p><strong>5. You Don&#8217;t Truly Know Why You Want Success</strong><br />
Wanting everything is bad enough &#8211; but it gets even worse if you don&#8217;t even know the reason why you&#8217;re trying to achieve your goal. What&#8217;s the deal? Without a solid reason, a compelling reason, where are you going to find the motivation and encouragement for you to overcome obstacles? You think it&#8217;s going to be fun ride to success? Then you haven&#8217;t been traveling &#8211; it&#8217;s a rocky road, my friend. Most people failed to achieve their goals because they never complete the journey&#8211; they give up half way (or at the beginning) because they cannot see the worth of accomplishments.</p>
<p><strong>6. Ingratitude</strong><br />
The thing I get most irritated about is people who achieved success and never felt gratitude towards those who have helped them. Is it very hard to say, &#8216;thank you&#8217;? The law of reciprocity is simple – you return favors to those who helped you in the past. And maybe, they&#8217;ll help you again in the future. Remember this- it takes more than just you to achieve success, so don&#8217;t be a jerk.</p>
<p><strong>7. Overconfidence and Complacency</strong><br />
The day you stop learning is the day you stop improving yourself. If you don&#8217;t want to fail in life, make you sure you stop acting as though you already know everything. The fact is, all successful people are people who continuously learn to be even more successful. They don&#8217;t stop. Let me put it in this perspective &#8211; you don&#8217;t know what you don&#8217;t know, you know?</p>

Now you have to constantly adjust what you are doing, but what you have to avoid is changing your entire strategy every few months. Choose a project, stick with it until the end.</p>
<p><strong>9. You Think Short Term</strong><br />
You&#8217;ll hear this happening often in many &#8216;successful&#8217; people&#8217;s stories – make a lot of money to lose it all. This probably because they became too comfortable and the other thing is, once you achieve success, you should ride on the wave when the momentum is there. When you think short term, you&#8217;re only going after the instant pleasure. You must learn to master &#8216;delay gratification&#8217; so that you can enjoy your today&#8217;s labor.</p>
<p><strong>10. You&#8217;re Blinded With What Is Important In Life</strong><br />
I believe there are only two things that are important in your life – control of time and experiencing happiness. Money, love, big cars, diamonds, etc are the things that contribute to these 2 benchmarks of successes. For instance, if you have money, you don&#8217;t need to work so that you can have more time to do the things you like. It&#8217;s not the money that you&#8217;re trying to get but what the money will bring. And what it all brings is emotion. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I was in Hawaii for vacation recently and it&#8217;s one of the best places I&#8217;ve visited, period. People there are warm, lots of things to do, good food, uninterrupted places for relaxing and a bunch more. We even visited the shooting locations for the famous TV series, &#8220;Lost&#8221; and the movie, Jurassic Park.</p>
<p>But I took home a very valuable lesson in life &#8212; how to overcome problems.</p>
<p>You see, don&#8217;t tell me it isn’t common to see people taking drugs, drink alcohol or smoke a lot when they&#8217;re stressed, when they have problems. Some will go see a shrink (psychiatrist).</p>
<p>Interestingly, the locals in Hawaii handle that differently. (Of course, not all of them but most of the dudes I&#8217;ve met there.)</p>
<p>When they have problems, they just take out their surf boards and ride the waves. Or go out fishing for some peace and quiet time.</p>
<p>Some just go for a nice swim in the sea and enjoy what Mother Nature has given.</p>
<p>The way I see it, they don&#8217;t have &#8216;problems&#8217;. They don&#8217;t make a big fuss out of them but appreciate what life has to offer. As a matter of fact, if you were to go into a rural area in one of the islands, material riches are not their main priority in life &#8212; it&#8217;s about being happy and living a fulfilling life.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m not saying that we can run away from reality by being a surfer dude. Or don&#8217;t care about money. Not at all, far from that. And I&#8217;m obviously not discouraging you to think big.</p>
<p>What I&#8217;m saying is &#8212; do you think your problem is really that big a deal? You might feel that I&#8217;m belittling your problem. Well, that&#8217;s just unfortunate.</p>
<p>How big your problem is HOW YOU DEFINE IT.</p>
<p>You see, it&#8217;s all relative. Einstein wasn&#8217;t wrong <img src='http://www.sparkintolife.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' />  If you have $1,000,000 sitting in your bank account, then $100 is nothing. But if $100 is all you&#8217;ve got in your bank, then $100 is EVERYTHING. The interesting part is, in reality, the $100 bill&#8217;s value hasn&#8217;t change a single bit &#8212; it&#8217;s your mind&#8217;s perception on it that changes.</p>
<p>Just like how your brain wants to interpret the &#8216;value&#8217; of your problem.</p>
<p>One thing is for certain &#8212; I don&#8217;t have a solution for your problems and this personal improvement article might not help a single bit to solve your problems. But you can decide for yourself whether you want to focus on it and make it bigger than life and let it suck your energy. Or you can go to the beach and enjoy the sunset. Then think how you can handle your &#8216;small&#8217; problem.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When you are at work, do you get frustrated because things don&#8217;t seem to be happening the way they’re supposed to be? You see people milling around but nothing gets accomplished. Then maybe its time for you to stand up and do something about it.</p>
<p>Most people are content just to stand around listening for orders. And it isn&#8217;t unusual to adopt a follow-the-leader mentality. But maybe, somewhere inside of you, you feel the desire to make things happen – to be the head, not the tail. Then maybe leadership just suits you fine.</p>
<p>Some people believe that great leaders are made, not born. Yes, it may be true that some people are born with natural talents. However, without practice, without drive, without enthusiasm, and without experience, there can be no true development in leadership.</p>
<p>You must also remember that good leaders are continually working and studying to improve their natural skills. This takes a commitment to constantly improve in whatever endeavor a person chooses.</p>
<p><strong>First of all, let&#8217;s define leadership.</strong><br />
To be a leader, one must be able to influence others to accomplish a goal, or an objective. He contributes to the organization and cohesion of a group.</p>
<p>Contrary to what most people believe, leadership is not about power. It is not about harassing people or driving them using fear. It is about encouraging others towards the goal of the organization. It is putting everyone on the same page and helping them see the big picture of the organization. You must be a leader not a boss.</p>
<p>First of all, you have to get people to follow you. How is this accomplished?</p>
<p>People follow others when they see a clear sense of purpose. People will only follow you if they see that you know where you are going. Remember that bumper sticker? The one that says, don&#8217;t follow me, I&#8217;m lost too? If you yourself do not know where you&#8217;re headed to, chances are people will not follow you at all.</p>
<p>You yourself must know the vision of the organization. Having a clear sense of hierarchy, knowing who the bosses are, who to talk to, the organization&#8217;s goals and objectives, and how the organization works is the only way to show others you know what you are doing.</p>
<p><strong>Being a leader is not about what you make others do. </strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s about who you are, what you know, and what you do. You are a reflection of what you&#8217;re subordinates must be.</p>
<p>Studies have shown that one other bases of good leadership is the trust and confidence your subordinates have of you. If they trust you they will go through hell and high water for you and for the organization.</p>
<p>Trust and confidence is built on good relationships, trustworthiness, and high ethics.</p>
<p>The way you deal with your people, and the relationships you build will lay the foundation for the strength of your group. The stronger your relationship, the stronger their trust and confidence is in your capabilities.</p>
<p>Once you have their trust and confidence, you may now proceed to communicate the goals and objectives you are to undertake.</p>
<p>Communication is a very important key to good leadership. Without this you can not be a good leader. The knowledge and technical expertise you have must be clearly imparted to other people (free communication skills discussed here).</p>
<p>Also, you can not be a good leader and unless you have good judgment. You must be able to assess situations, weigh the pros and cons of any decision, and actively seek out a solution.</p>
<p>It is this judgment that your subordinates will come to rely upon. Therefore, good decision-making is vital to the success of your organization.</p>
<p><strong>Leaders are not do-it-all heroes. </strong></p>
<p>You should not claim to know everything, and you should not rely upon your skills alone.</p>
<p>You should recognize and take advantage of the skills and talents your subordinates have. Only when you come to this realization will you be able to work as one cohesive unit.</p>
<p>Remember being a leader takes a good deal of work and time. It is not learned overnight. Remember, also, that it is not about just you. It is about you and the people around you.</p>

<p>You may not know exactly how you can motivate someone, but you may want to think about the person&#8217;s feelings before you try to give them a heart-felt push. You do not want to sound nagging when you are only trying to be encouraging. It is easy to give someone your opinion, however, it&#8217;s not always so easy trying to figure how to say it.</p>
<p>The first <a href="http://www.sparkintolife.com/">leadership training</a> tip on how to motivate others is to take out the negative and reinforce a positive note. You do not want to sound like you are tearing into your friend or loved one. You just want to give them some support to go for the things that they enjoy.</p>

<p>The last think that you can ever do is try to motivate someone in the name of control. You may just need someone to talk to about it because no one can control anyone. You have to give someone room to choose, however, if they are being destructive, you may feel the need to control to save them. This is when you take professional advice and support them to seek new ideas.</p>
<p>You will want to make sure that whatever reason you are supporting someone is out of love. You not only need to motivate the person, but you have to care about the person for them to turn their life around or reach their goals.</p>

<p>The reluctance to include team building in the day to day running of a business and the employees within is often down to one of tow things; a complete lack of knowledge and understanding or a misunderstanding of the knowledge they do have.</p>
<p>For many the words &#8216;team building&#8217; mean very little in the context of their place of employment. They think of football teams or some other such sporting activity. Team building to them means &#8216;The Premiership&#8217; transfer market with vast amount of money changing hands. They cannot see how team building could possibly relate to their office or shop job.</p>
<p>To many others the term conjures up images of a bunch of reluctant office workers giving up their weekend to be marched across a wet and windy area of the Cotswolds by a retired Sergeant Major., all in the name of team building. Again this is completely wrong.</p>

So much of business today relies on good relationships and communication due to the competitive nature of the world we live in. This isn&rsquo;t usually the best of ideas however. For starters you may not even like the job that much, what is the point in that? You&rsquo;ll soon get tired of the position and might find yourself getting depressed. Rather than stopping in a job like that, you need to take action and search for some new Career Choices. <p>The first situation we will be referring to is one that irritates me a lot, because it is something I have experienced before and can say for certain how bad it is. This scenario is when you are stuck in Careers that have no future, no possibility of progression. There can be a lot of reasons for this, but the cause I have came across is due to biased treatment within the management team. To word it simply, my manager had her two favourites in the team and had no time for the rest of us. These people weren&rsquo;t really good at their jobs, but just got along well with the manager. This affected anyone that was aiming to progress, personally I had been progressing into a coaching position with my previous manager and when he resigned, I was moved back to the basics. This kind of situation isn&rsquo;t really that rare, no doubt a manager is going to get along better with some people, but it mustn&rsquo;t ever negatively effect their work or other people&rsquo;s work. If you are stuck in a career such as this, my recommendation is just to quit, you could be spending years without anything moving forward.</p>
<p>A further reason you might want to contemplate looking at different Career Choices is when the work just isn&rsquo;t what you want it to be. Now this may sound apparent, but it&rsquo;s amazing how many people just stick with a job that they didn&rsquo;t truly want to be doing. It can make it easy and you might be able to advance to a better paid role, but will you ever really be happy? You need to pursue Careers that you have a liking in, even if it means receiving less pay. You&rsquo;ll be happier at work and you&rsquo;ll be doing something you really like. It makes the day a lot easier and you&rsquo;ll be going home less fatigued. </p>
